Guidelines

The Beaumont Foundation is a nonprofit grantmaking institution dedicated to helping groups and individuals. Through the support it provides, the Foundations fosters the development of knowledge, advances human welfare, nurtures individual creativity, strengthens institutions, and contributes to the well-being of the less-fortunate in our society. The Foundation believes its grantmaking is most effective when focused on relatively few areas of work, combined with sufficient resources to make a measurable difference. The Programs eligible for Foundation funding must adhere to the guidelines listed below and address one of the five program areas:

Grantmaking Process

THE BEAUMONT FOUNDATION GRANTS ONLY TO PRESELECTED ORGANIZATIONS; UNSOLICITED LETTERS OF INTEREST OR APPLICATIONS ARE NOT ACCEPTED.

The process usually begins when Foundation staff members contact nonprofit organizations of interest for a conversation about their work and how a grantmaking partnership might further their efforts. If the Foundation expresses an interest in the work, the organization will be contacted to submit a Letter of Interest. After reviewing the Letter of Interest, the Foundation may request a formal application.

Letters of Interest

Before submitting a formal application to the Foundation, prospective applicants must submit a letter of interest outlining the background of the organization and the proposed project. The letter of interest should describe succinctly the project for which funding is requesting, including how it relates to the Foundation’s program areas, the target audience, the estimated budget and request amount.

After reviewing the letter of interest, the Foundation may request a formal application. The application must include the following materials:
